Bill Miller and his dogs

As a child, Brother had two beloved pet dogs, Prince and Sport. As an adult, he had two, too -- Schnitzel and Alfie.
With Charlie (named after the enemy) in South Vietnam in 1967.

With Alfie, the dog of the Miller kids' youth. Alfie was a flea-bitten puppy given to the Millers by Edward Sprick, Alverna's brother, in 1968. He lived a happy life with the family in Old Frontenac, Minn., and died of cancer in 1985. Brother buried him in the back yard of the Miller home there, where he lies yet beneath daffodils and tiger lilies.
